Fully understanding your requirements and timescale is vital to the success of a project. The design team at DLS will hold discussions with all involved parties to understand and agree all the relevant project details. We are happy to create all designs in-house ourselves, or alternatively can interpret and work from your own designs.

Our processes include the issue of fully detailed assembly drawings issued to our in-house toolmakers at the time of production. All information and processes are compliant to ISO 9001, so you can be sure that all procedures and services are provided to the highest standard. We use only high-grade materials sourced from some of the UK’s biggest stockholders, mostly tooling in aircraft grade Aluminium or P20 steel.

3D Modelling and product representation

With constant evolution of 3D printing technology, especially material strength and finish chracteristics we have developed close links with 3rd party specialist 3D printer providers. 3D models are ususally available in a matter of days. Please call us to discuss your requirements.

UV Weather testing

Product strength testing

We are able to devise and execute numerous tests to prove the physical characteristics of products that we have designed. Our engineers are able to create practical product stress tests to simulate real world situations and work with customer design teams to find the right solution.


DLS Plastics utilises it’s own team of in-house precision engineers, encompassing toolmakers, electrical engineers and maintenance engineers. Working out of our modern, clean, tool room facility we are able to provide a full manufacturing environment for all your tooling requirements. The fast input of design and tool path data, coupled with our machines cutter library carousel provides the ability to run multi cutter, multi program machining processes and reduce tooling production timescales. Carrying out all these processes under one roof allows us to keep a strict eye on quality as well as closely managing timescales to meet your requirements.


Here at DLS we have many years of experience in injection moulding, and all our mould room staff are highly trained. The injection moulding machine operatives are also experts in picking the best material for your product and setting up the optimum conditions to make the most of each material’s characteristics.

We can also offer additives in materials to cater for U.V protection. If you cannot see the material that you require, or are unsure which material would best suit your requirements please contact us.

We are happy to advise on the correct material for your product and source and mould in new materials if required. We stock a large selection of standard colour additives, but we can also offer a colour matching service. Small batch quantities or large production runs can all be catered for, allowing for maximum flexibility.

Electro-plated Plastic

Need a component with a chrome, nickel or gold finish, but don’t want the added weight or regular maintenance of metal parts? Plated plastic components are the solution.

Product Assembly & Finishing

Based at the DLS site in Grantham is a fully equipped assembly department, where our highly trained operatives put the finishing touches to products. Certain applications dictate that mouldings often need assembling, sometimes with other fittings such as threaded inserts, springs, fastenings etc. to become a working product. Our assembly staff are quick and highly efficient, and capable of working with small or high quantity orders. Having an experienced design team and manufacturing facility on site also allows us to fabricate tools and jigs to further speed up the assembly process.


As supply chains become more demanding and advanced, we recognise that delivery and stock management methods need to become more dynamic to suit. At DLS we have extensive experience in , providing a dependable and reliable direct to production line, just in time delivery service.
